Hi guys, im just wondering if there is any program that will change my wireless password at a certain time of day, basicly id like it to change to a password my kids know (set in there laptops, so it automaticly comes on)at 4pm , and change to another that only i know of (so it kicks them off the net ) at 6pm.

i know i can manually change the password through my router, but just wondering if theres a program of some sort that will do this for me.

Thanks.

It's possible that this is a function of your current network router. Each device that connects to your network is identified by it's MAC Address. There may be a function within your router's software that limits network (and therefore internet) access to a specific time of day to specific MAC addresses (without having to change passwords).

Many routers have a options like this as part of parental controls. It does not change the password but it does block the traffic using different means. Its mostly going to depend on which router you have what your options are.

If you are only trying to block laptop and not also things like phones you could use a free software called K9

This is completely free with no catch and does a great job of controlling what a child does with a pc. Even if they are little hackers it is unlikely they could bypass this.

Of course the big problem with this solution is you have all kinds of phone, pads, etc etc that you cannot really load good software on to prevent it so you are back to preventing with the router.
