I'm planning to build a pc and i was just wondering if the configuration above would work, i know this budget mobo isn't fantastic but i'm not going to overclock, so will it work and will it last?

Yes it will work. But i'd go with at least a 970 board than this, since that CPU is a very high end, and that board you'd like to get is a low end.

Hi fjaesbog, I have the same CPU and the same MOBO, the revision of my mobo is 6.0,

as i found, this CPU is supported only in the F3 Bios version of the mobo which is installed on the revision 4.1.


does it mean that i need to buy a rev 4.1 mobo? or can i update the BIOS in any way?
in gigabyte site i couln't download the F3 drivers for revision 6.0

i've seen other mobos (in case i need to buy another), is ASUS M5A97 R2.0, compatible?
