What size monitor?

Well that depends on what kind of place you are playing at, and if you have any other use for the monitor. Since you could just as well get like a 32"-40" FullHD TV and use it as a nice TV and for gaming.

In this case bigger is probably better. FullHD resolution is fine though so no need to go for the expensive 27" 2560x1440 monitors.

1080p will look better at 23" 24" compared to 27"-32" due to the pixels are bigger giving it a strange look so try to find something within 23" 24" thats 1080p for the ps3/ps4/360/xbox 1 you wont need 1440p since consoles cant support it
