Hello Professors,
My old Windows 7 Home Premium laptop died and I had to remove the hdd. I have now bought a new laptop that runs windows 8. I have connected my old hdd to the new laptop via a sata 2.5 hdd enclosure.

When I try to access the files it says: 'Access Denied'.

Could anyone advise me step by step how do access my old files?

I cannot access folder at all.

:(

Well, I nearly got used to Windows 8, but it is still so annoying for me.

I've read in some forums that I have to add a permission, and I think I found how. However when I am applying permission it runs for 10 min and then start saying that to most of the files access denied! :( and cannot finish the permission application. :(

So disappointed.

Anyways - will try your software - hopefully will work! I'll let you know later!

You seem fairly tech savvy, I think you'll eventually get access to the drive. It's just a perplexing issue.
Just keep reading and trying things.

But if your tired of it and have money to spare; you can out-source the job. Even data off burned HD's can be recovered by specialists:
