Splinter Cell Blacklist + i3-2100

For some reason, this game in DX11 maxes the two physical cores with no activity on the virtual cores - inconsistent with all my other games, including SC:Conviction. I have core parking disabled and my temps are normal - rig in sig.

The problem is, there's a TON of stuttering (low-high frametimes) no matter what settings I choose - unless I switch to DX9. This solves the stutter, but blocks access to the nice graphical features... CPU usage drops to about 85% on the two physical cores, again with no activity on the virtual cores.

I would say the game needs another patch, because no other game pegs my CPU like this - and the non-use of my virtual cores is unsettling. From what I've been reading, this game is supposed to use up to 4 cores, and there has been no report of microstutter when using quad-cores.

Any i3 users having the same issues with this game?

Solution
You can go here to see if your system specs are eligible to run the game properly.

The game runs Unreal Engine 3 which prefers fewer fast cores vs multiple slow cores. However, I don't think this is your problem.

It could be the game isn't optimized to use virtual cores. Remember, the i3 2100 does not have 4 cores. It has only 2 totaling 4 threads. The game may not be optimized for virtual cores and may be only looking at your physical cores.

The problem seems to be coming from your graphics card. Are you using one? If you're not, there's your problem. The HD 2000 only supports up to Direct X 10.1 which would explain why DX9 works but DX11 doesn't.

Edit: Noticed in your sig you are using a GTX 660. In this case, make sure your...

Solution
Found the issue. For some reason the game .exe defaults to Processor Affinity for only Core 0 and 2, not All Processors. I can't figure out why, and I have to change it in TM every time I launch the game, but it's smooth now - using all 4 "cores" at 80-90%.

Noticed some other bugs in the game interface, too - hope a polished patch is coming.
