CPU: i7-4770k
MOBO: Asus Z87 Gryphon
Case: Fractal Design Define Mini
CPU cooler: CM 212 Plus

Which memory should I go with? I want reliable memory that can work with my CPU overclocked to 4.2GHz. I won't tweak memory settings to OC my RAM. I want to plug it in and see it runs at 1600 MHz without changing BIOS settings.
BTW, should I get 4x4GB or 2x8GB. I definitely want 16GB for now, video and photo work.

Are both compatible with my system? Any other suggestions on low profile memory?

Solution
First go 2x8GB, it's slightly faster and under load more effective as it's only dealing with 2 devices rather than 4, less stress on the MC, with that out of the way, would go with the Ares over the Corsair, better sticks and more OC headroom than the Corsairs.........and then as a suggestion, if doing video and image work, might want want to consider feither higher freq or higher performance sticks, the 4770K and Gryphon combo will be perfectly happy with 1600 (7 or 8CL) performance sticks or move up to 1866 (8-9) or 2133/9, will see a boost in your imaging and video work

I'd probably stay away from Ares as I have only used ripjaws and another kind of which I forget.

I hate low-profile ot begin with. As far as which modules to get, I'd go 4x4 because it seperates the ram into 4 DIMMS which tests have proven is more effective.

But I went with 8GB from Patriot and I love mine, wouldn't change back. I also run them at 2133 as well, so that's another factor.

Why would you stay away from Ares? This kind of statement usually implies that you have had bad experience with the product or there are known issues with the product. Since you say you haven't used it, I'm curious as to why right off the bat you would suggest to stay away from that product. Just curious, thanks for the quick input though

I'd get the cheapest name brand that's 1.5V and 9-9-9-24 timings. Low profile is good just to make sure there are no clearance issues.

Oddly, the test I saw shows two sticks of ram being ever so slightly faster than four sticks due to the overhead of the controller having to manage two sets... So, I always vote for 2x8GB.
