Are my 7970 temps too high?

So, I recently got my computer.

Specs:
NZXT Phantom
Asrock z77 extreme4
i5-3570k (No OC)
7970 (No OC)
Corsair Dominator Platinum 16 gigs of 1866mhz ram
Corsair TX750 psu
and a 1tb 7200 rpm caviar blue western digital hdd
(no ssd, might get one on black friday)

So, as I started to test out some applications, I found very odd results regarding the gpu usage and was also wondering if my temps were too high. While playing Splinter Cell Blacklist, my gpu usage is 99% and my temps stay at 77-78 degrees celsius. While playing Blacklight Retribution, at the LOGIN SCREEN, I have 99% gpu usage and my temps are at like 76 degrees celsius.

I have 1x 200mm fan on the top of my case, 2x 120 mm fans pointed toward my HDD, 1x 120mm on the rear, and an asetek 550 Liquid cooling system planted on that rear fan with a radiator. I was wondering if 70-80 degrees celsius was dangerous for the 7970 and if it would last long or not.

Also, there is space for another 200/230mm fan that is pointed towards the gpu and I want to buy a 200mm for that space exactly.

Will it help at all with my temps if I wanted this system to last log?

I am very unfamiliar with temperatures and how the gpu should normally act. This is my first system and I don't want it to last only 2 years when my gpu is already burnt out. I know that the 7970 is a really hot and loud card, but I was just making sure, since I don't want to take any risks. Thanks.

These are normal temps for this card. Remember that the 7970 is most powerful in the AMD line-up. So between 70-80C under load is perfectly normal for this card. People who have less air flow in their case use this card at 90C and it still remains stable.

GPUs are designed to be able to withstand temperatures of 120 degrees Celsius.(But PLEASE do NOT try this as it will shorten the life of your GPU.) As long as the temperature is under about 100 degrees Celsius, you have nothing to worry about.

yes those temps are fine, if your like me and prefer to keep everything super cool just download msi afterburner and turn up your gpu fan speed when gaming. my gpu rarly goes above 42 celsius and my 4670k never goes above 50c when gaming. unless im stress testing.
