Hello,
I'm thinking about buying an SSD drive, and the 840 Evo 250gb looks pretty attractive. I have an older motherboard, a TBGM-01, the one used on the FX series computers by Gateway.

My question is: can I even install an 840 Evo on my motherboard? Do I have the right SATA ports?

I'm not very literate in the topic, so any help or advice is very much appreciated!

Your MOBO does not have SATAIII so in my opinion it wouldn't be worth it, you wouldn't be able to fully utilize your SSD

That's too bad. So, my primary concern should probably be to upgrade my motherboard?

If you're upgrading your MOBO you should just build an entire new computer.
