Acer shuts down when starting a game

Hi, my Acer keeps shutting down whenever I start a game. It are not heavy or difficult game, but just supersimple games online. I looked it bit online, and found a lot about overheating, but it shuts down right away when I open a game, so I'm not sure if it is problem with the heating. I've only had for about a year and a half. Anyone any idea what to do?

What type of laptop is it? Acer makes a lot of laptops. If you can provide a link to it or if you write what model it is it might help troubleshoot the problem better.

As for the actual problem, you can tell when a laptop is overheating because it'll be quite hot to the touch, depending on the processor inside. It's going to be hard to diagnose the problem further though...
