Is this Corsair CX500m PSU enough for me?

I know you are all going to say I could have gone for the TX or HX version of Corsairs PSU's....

But I need to get this build complete as soon as possible so I needed to save money...

I have just brought the Corsair CX500w Modular PSU, I will be overclocking my CPU from 3.4GHz to 4.4GHz...

This is my build;

Corsair 350D Windowed mATX Case
ASRock Z77 Pro4-m Motherboard
Intel Core i5 3570K (4.4GHz)
H80i Liquid Cooler
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm
EVGA GTX760 ACX (Single GPU)
Corsair CX500w Modular PSU
Windows 7 - 64bit

I know this Power Supply is cheap, but it is corsair? I hear there power supplies are brilliant quality... will this PSU be okay?

I know 500w is enough to this single GPU system... but its the CX series...

All feedback is much appreciated!!!!

  1. Yes, it will be fine. Even tho they are the bottom of the corsairs, they are still quality units. I use 2 of them now and have had no problems at all. If you are ever worried about your watt usage, you can check it here..

Can I just as you a few questions?
Firstly, why are you using two? (curious... for 2 rigs or one?)
Secondly, what build do you have?
    Third, are you over clocking?
Finally, how long have you been using this unit?

I have 5 rigs now...one for me 1 for each kid. I have been using the cx600 to power my rig with a 3570k OC to 4.2 and 2 gtx 660's in sli. I have been using that psu for about 8 months. The other one is a cx430m. It is powering an amd build for my youngest daughter to play mincraft. That one has a AMD 6300, AMD 7770 4 case fans and no overclock. Had that for about 2 months. The other builds have 550 to 650 XFX PSU's. I have built a few other for friends using the cx series and have never had a problem with any of them so far.
