The Issue:
After UEFI And Windows splash screens appear on startup DVi connected monitor goes dark. Single monitor setup.
The setup:
ASRock FM2A75M-DGS R2.0 FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon X4 750K Trinity 3.4GHz Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core Desktop Processor - Black Edition
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL10S-8GBXL
PowerColor AX7770 1GBD5-DH Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
Thermaltake Purepower 2.0 W012RU 600 Watt Power Supply
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S3D7/60G 2.5" 60GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
COOLER MASTER GeminII M4 RR-GMM4-16PK-R2 120mm Slim Fan Long Life Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
The above items were purchased new on 21 August 2013. The following items are being re-used from previous pc. Acer X213H monitor, Thermaltake Purepower 2.0 W012RU 600 Watt Power Supply, 1TB Sata3 HDD, Antec Tower case mouse and keyboard.
What I've tried so far:
Un-installing driver from AMD gets the computer usable. Generic windows drivers work. Using HDMI gets me a picture with AMD drivers but I end up with the Screen not filling up the Monitor. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1782966/desktop-filling-screen-installing-drivers-powercolor-radeon-hd7770.html I've updated the MB Bios to 1.50. I've downloaded and installed the 7770 drivers from both the AMD site as well as the PowerColor site. I've tried two different DVi cables in both directions. I've ensured the power is connected to the card.
Since the motherboard has integrated graphics i tried to disable them in cmos or uefi. The appropriate options didn't appear when following the instructions in the user manual. I suspect this is because the chip i'm using doesn't have integrated graphics so the options don't come up in cmos.
it's been suggested to me that I may need to update the firmware on the 7770. i was able to locate a utility that tells me what bios/firmware the card is using but have not been able to discover what newer firmware is available if any or how to install it.
I've gone over many of the posts with similar issues and haven't found a solution yet. Any ideas?

tried that, the problem is that I still can't get it to fill the screen. when I adjust to the last spot on the slider the screen freaks out and goes back to where it started. tried three times and then had to reboot to get a picture back. thanks.
