I was wondering if anyone knows if the new 4960x LGA 2011 is compatible with the Sabertooth X79 LGA 2011? I ask this because the specs for this MB say it is only compatible with the 2nd gen Sandy Bridge CPU and it does not say anything about the new 4960x Ivy Bridge CPU's

Yes it will be compatible. It just requires a bios update.
