I just did a new build and trying to installing windows 7 on it. Im running:

CPU: i7-4770k
MB: ASRock Z87 Pro3
SSD: Samsung 830 128GB

Whenever I go to install windows 7 I get "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."

You have AHCI enabled in BIOS?

Also if you have other hard drives connected you should unplug them and leave the SSD as the only thing connected until Windows is installed.

If you have unplugged any other drives and AHCI is enabled in BIOS then try a different SATA cable and port for the SSD.

If that does not work you may have a dead SSD. It happens even with high end drives. There another computer you could plug the drive into to test it?

That would be a pretty much unheard of failure rate for a drive know to be quite reliable. My guess is the problem might be on your end. If you are overclocking then reset everything to default. Also try a different connector from the PSU.

Yeah try with the hard drive by itself.

Yea i tried with my 1TB WD Black and got the same results. If I hit next to try and install it it gives another message saying "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing partition. See the Setup log files for more information." This message appeared for both my hard drives.

Good deal. You had obviously changed something it didn't like. You may want to do a full reset of CMOS either with the motherboard jumper or by removing the battery for 10-15 minutes.
