Hi, i have bought a used pc which i have been having a few issues with but have no resolved these an d the machine now boots and gets to the bios screen. However i am new to this and need some guidance please. The motherboard is a gigabyte GA - 970A - DS3 . No windows disk came with it but windows is on the internal hard drive. Any advice on how to proceed to get it up and running would be gratefully recieved.

Thanks in advance

Install the HDD with windows on in into the PC, ensuring to tighten all 4 screws into the body of the HDD, make sure to connet a SATA 2/3 to the HDD and to the Motherboard, and plug a SATA power cable into the HDD. Then as Wolfshadw change your boot order in your BOIS to boot from the HDD with windows installed.

In your BIOS, you should find a boot priority list. Make sure the drive with Windows installed is the first boot device listed. Once that is accomplished, reboot your system. If Windows fails to launch, then there is an issue with Windows. Without the install disk (which you *should* have gotten), the only thing I can recommend is going out and purchasing a new copy of Windows and re-installing from scratch. At least this way, you know your copy of Windows is legitimate.
