Hello. I bought a custom built pc, my first, and I do not know anything about liquid cooling. I have a Cooler Master Seidon 120M Universal Enclosed Liquid CPU Cooler. The system is an Intel Core i-7-4770K CPU@3.5 GHz with Windows 8 64 bit and Nvidia Geforce GTX 780. The card runs around 28 degrees Celcius but jumps when I play MMORPGs. I am not sure how to keep it cool with the system I have. Any help is appreciated!

The Cooler Master Seidon only cool the CPU did nothing to cool the GPU.

Its normal that outside gaming the 780 keeps very cold because it's in a low power state that genrate very little heat, and only start to draw power when you use it in a graphic demanding game, if the GPU temp is <75º i would not worry about it.

I you want anyway keep it cool you have several options:
- Put an aftermarket cooler on the card (liquid or not) that is better that the default one.
- Put more fans on the case to increase the airflow within the case and help the cooler of the Gpu to keep the temps low.

Based on your feedback as well as searching on the net, I have concluded that temperature isn't a factor as to why my computer keeps freezing and crashing while playing a game and the random BSOD's that occur without error codes. I now have more research to do, unfortunately. thanks for your assistance!

Hello, thanks for the fast response. I had thought that 60 degrees Celsius was quite high, however, apparently this part of the normal range for computers to operate under. I am trying to figure out why my computer keeps crashing to desktop after freezing in game. Then sometimes I get random BSODs too with no error code. I had thought temperature was a factor, but I can rule it out now. The cooler is installed, yes. So far, I have done a memory test, came back with no errors, rolled back the Nvidia driver to 320.49 with a clean install, and allowed the game to run through Windows Defender firewall. I have more research to do to try and figure this out. Thanks for your help with my issue!

What PSU are you using?, maybe your problem isn't the temperature but the PSU that havent enought to power a 780, outside games when the 780 need less power you are ok, but on demanding games when the GPU makes a peak in power your PSU coun't handle it and give less power making the BSOD.

The PSU I am using is Power Supply: Thermaltake SMART 1200W Modular.... Power Supply 88% Efficiency. I have downloaded MSI Kombustor and have since concluded it isn't the temperature. I am still getting random crashes when I play Star Wars the Old Republic. Most of the time the game just exits, with no warning. It crashes right to desktop...and usually it doesnt even say that the game encountered an error and needs to close and that windows will find a solution. Then I also get random bsod's. the current one I'm looking into now is "kernal security check failure". I have run /checkdisk, and it found no errors. I have run memory diagnostic, and it has found no memory errors. I have run a full system scan with antivirus, windows defender and it did not find any viruses. I do not know what else to check. This computer is only 2 weeks old. The only thing installed on it is the game and MSI Kombustor to monitor GPU temps. That is all. Nothing else. So why do I get so many crashes and BSOD's??? The techs downloaded all the updated drivers for the computer. It is windows 8. What else could the issue possibly be?? Thanks for your help!

Bufff, more than enought to even 2 cards xD

Just a question, you get the crashes and BSOD only with this game (or a lot more oftten with this game)?

I ask you because at launch i have a similar problem with the SWTOR, and get crashes both in the game and even in the patcher and where related to the memory (and yes, the memory where stable, pass memtest without problems and works with other games wonderfully) and need to change the timmings to get working properly.

If you have problems with more games i'm running out of ideas.
