That's a toughie; On the one hand, the Athlon has 4 cores but no L3 cache. On the other hand, the 4100 has lower IPC and 1 less core but has L3 cache.
I might get hated on,but I'd pick the Athlon II x4
(IF it's a Propus) If not..eh 4100 i guess.
TBH I'd go for a used Callisto and gamble on unlocking :D
Edit:I see it's a Bulldozer variant.
It probably has same performance as fx-4***
and fm2 boards are much cheaper.

Both offer the same performance at their stock speeds. The 4100 costs a few bucks more but has an unlocked multiplier.

Neither. IMO go with the Athlon X4 750k.

Main reasons: Newer architecture (it's an A10-5800K with the integrated GPU disabled). Can over-clock it. From everything I've read, it's a fairly decent budget gaming CPU. The FX-4100 is a little older and honestly I haven't heard much about the FX-4XXX series, which would deter me from it.

For strictly gaming, the 750K would be fine, but because you have some other uses, I would strongly suggest going with the FX-6300 if you can. It will perform much better in those other tasks.

I am asking this because I have read that buldozer series are not so good and this Athlon is a bit newer cpu so I am still having a tough choice

Well thanks for your suggestion, and because I am on a tight budget I think I will go with Athlon 750k along with HD 7750 , because I can't afford FX-6300 or anything similar at the moment.

If you're absolutely limited to that range, go with a 750k.
