Question about Intel's HD graphics

I am building a htpc and I'm curious about whether or not I could get by using just a Celeron, Pentium, or i3.

My htpc will be connected to a 50" LG 1080p plasma. I need it to be able to stream 1080p video, play blu-rays, and handle common multimedia container formats(divx, avi, mkv, mp4,...) in 720p or 1080p with ease. 3D is not important at this time, but I would kind of like it to be a possibility in the future.

***I do NOT game.***

I'm curious about everything from Sandy Bridge's hd 2000 and hd 3000 to Ivy Bridge's hd 2500, hd 4000, and even the base hd graphics found in the g1610- g2120.

What do you guys think?

I'm sure the hd 4000 graphics would do it(right?), but what about the lesser ones?

Any help would be appreciated.

I originally intended to get the Celeron g1610, but then I started doubting it graphics power. I would love to have either the i3 3225 or i3 3245 for their hd 4000 graphics, but they're a little out of my price range. I could probably get a i3 3220 for pretty cheap, but I'm not too confident in it's hd 2500 graphics power. I could also get an i3 2120 for even cheaper, but I doubt it's hd 2000 even more.

I've heard some people say that a g1610 would be enough, but then I've heard others say not even close.

the i3 3220 would be a good choice if budget is tight. Of course, its not going to run as well as one with an hd4000, but it will work just fine, for 1080p videos. I wouldn't get the g1610 since it is weaker in graphics and weaker as a cpu, thus it can ruin your htpc experience.

I think an i3 3220 with atleast 2-4gb ram will make a good htpc
