Pci or Pci-e x1 graphic cards for Sims 3

Hi, I have been looking for a graphics card for my computer to run Sims 3. Right now I have a Nividia Geforce 9400GT. I have windows 7 professional SP1. Intel Pentuim 4 cpu 3.2 Ghz 3192 Mhz, 1 Core, 1 Logical Processor. The computer is a Dell Dimension E310. I also put a 400 wt power supply in the computer. Can anyone help me. I have looked at alot of cards but I am not a computer geek. Thanks in advance.

it looks like your computer has a pci slot and a lot of graphics card makers do not make pci graphics cards anymore, you will want to look for an older pci graphics card, your entire system is rather dated though.

With that CPU, SIMS 3 will be very slow even with a fast video card. I mean VERYYYY SLOWWWW.

Sell the computer, buy a used tower Core 2 Duo system with at least a 300 watt power supply, or move yours to it, for $100-150 and buy a Radeon 6670 or 7750 card for it, total will be about $200. I just bought a Core 2 Duo 2.33gig system for $30, if you look around you can find a decent tower with a modern video slot for $100 or maybe less. Try craigslist, make sure you see the system running before you buy. I suggest a 2.66 or faster CPU. SIMS uses the CPU as much as the video card.

A lot better than wasting the money on a video card for a system that has been outdated for 5 years already.

hmmm, if you want to game then you have to get a better motherboard that will support better cpu's. but you might need to modify the rear into the actually fit the motherboard.

if you dont want to do that, then get a regular PCI video card.

Hi The Sims 3 is running on the computer now, but the graphics card is just interferes with windows. It freezes the screen in when in screen saver. I am going to get a new computer, but I want this one for my daughter so she can play Sims 3. I have thought of a new motherboard been looking for one. I am going to put a better cpu in also.
