Hey everyone, new to the forum, but I think this would be a good place to as this.

I'm having an issue with my setup that I'm doing. I have everything down to just the Motherboard, CPU, Memory, and Power Supply. I plugged in a BIOS speaker into the Front Panel connectors to troubleshoot and am getting a constant beep, showing as a memory error in my manual. Have two sticks of RAM and tried every combo I could, single or double. All are giving me the beep code. I'm gonna try sticking some other similar RAM into it to test to see if it's the RAM. Am I going on the right track? Is there something I might be missing or could try?

Mobo: Biostar TA970 (Base)
CPU: AMD FX-8320
RAM: Crucial Balistix VLP 2x4 GB DDR3 1600
PSU: OCZ Fatal1ty 750W 80-Plus Bronze

Well, with a quick look at the memory compatibility list for that MOBO, I do not see any Crucial models confirmed. Although the lists are not comprehensive, I would find it disheartening that they did not confirm with any type of stick of the Crucial brand, I would try a RAM that is listed on the compatibility list, if that RAM doesn't work either it may be a MOBO issue.

chugot9218: I didn't even think of that. I'm trying not to buy RAM just for troubleshooting and never use it again, to be sure it is the RAM sticks I bought with it. I have some friends letting me borrow some spare ones they have, and I doubt all of them won't work. Especially if they meet the criteria (800 MHz to 1866 MHz, DDR3, 1 GB - 16 GB), I figure some of them would work.

guggi4: Yes, the memory you posted are the same ones I have, just in Very Low Profile format. The exact serial number is BLS2K4G3D1609ES2LX0. Basically the same still though. I'm reading even worse reviews for the newegg page for my RAM i just looked up. A lot of people saying it doesn't even work when they get it and that it's discontinued.

Spec, if you purchased from Newegg, they are actually pretty good about swapping out incompatible RAM, as long as it's all returned in working order I am pretty sure they will let you swap them in and out (not sure about shipping costs) until you find something compatible.

Yeah, this was my fault. I ordered the RAM randomly off of PCPartPicker without checking out reviews for each individual part.

I also ordered the part from OutletPC, which doesn't seem like a reputable dealer in retrospect. I have to look up the Return Policies and see what it is.
