Hey guys,
having recently been and checked out the MacPro presentation thingy on Apples website I became confused at how the PCIe flash storage and the AMD FirePro GPUs are so small are they small chips like a normal CPU? As the GPU in my computer is probably the size of the entire MacPro itself.

Furthermore, is the GPU and the flash storage components attached to the motherboard? (I mean physically, are they one part in a sense). Just wondered if the forum could explain to me.

Thanks guys
Alex

im no apple expert, but to answer some of your questions: yes, a GPU is about the same size as the CPU, your desktop's GPU might be huge simply because it's more spaced out to allow better cooling, plus it has its own cooling solution where most laptops with GPUs have a single cooling solution for the whole laptop.
as for the flash storage and GPU, it really depends on the make and model of each laptop, some laptops have separate parts, so you could remove the flash storage, other laptops (usually the thinner 'ultrabook' style ones) have the flash and GPU straight on the same piece of silicon as the motherboard and cpu.
