Tenda W300D Wireless Adsl/Router Prob

I just purchased the Tenda adsl/router and have been using it for a few days now. I have found that it works great until it is rebooted/turned off and on/ or a power loss happens. When I first set it up I can see my two laptops (toshiba win 7 & compaq xp home) and my new wireless canon mg3170 printer. All works great. When the reboot or other action happens to cause the router to go on and off the laptops and printer are no longer accessible to each other via wireless. I can however use an ethernet to the router and get access to them. I have reset the router several times to factory specs and then reconfigured for my network. Each time it works great, but I test to see if the same thing happens when it is turned off or rebooted. It happens every time.

Any ideas? I have verified that all passkeys etc. are correct in all devices. I change no settings on any device. I simply turn the router off and on and I am no longer able to view the other devices (unless I use ethernet).

I use Comodo firewall/anti-virus on both laptops. Windows firewall is off. I tried disabling Comodo firewall and it made no difference. I tried using only Windows firewall and that made no difference. The only thing that works is resetting the router back to factory settings.

I appreciate someone's help with this. I have reached out to Tenda support, but have yet to hear a response.

I didn't see hours posted... tried twice. I am in Thailand and its now 2 am here so early/late there as well (assuming China). I sent an email and it said a response within a day...

I meant at Tenda not on the website in regard to time. I am content with seeing what they say.

For additional informational purposes: After turning on/off the router doesn't allow the lappy's to see the other devices, but all are showing as connected on the router itself. I show three mac id's registered when all three are turned on. The only other strange thing is the printer does not show an ip address either before or after turning the router off/on. However, I know it is registering an ip addy as I can see it when I use ethernet. It makes me wonder if it is a firewall issue, but like I said... I'll see what Tenda makes of it.

The printer's mac id is there, but no ip addy is shown assigned. However, as I previously said the printer and laptops all work normally via wireless as long as I don't restart the router after the new configuration. The printer also works normally if I do restart the router when I connect a latop via ethernet. I don't think the problem is with the printer. It seems to be in the sharing of the "wireless" network through the router.

Tenda responded to make sure firmware is up to date. I had already checked that and it looked like it was, but I responded to them with the version I have and will see if they have a suggestion for something more recent.

Update: Tenda came back to me with a question asking if I was in Thailand and telling me simultaneously download a file and upgrade my firmware. I am in Thailand so I wrote back that to them. However, my attempt to download the file does not work or appear to be the correct format (bin). I think they sent me the wrong file for the update as nothing else comes with the download. File is named: bcmw300dv3_fs_kernel-IPOA. I wrote back to them and again am waiting for a response. No changes to the situation. My router still isn't allowing network devices to see each other once it has rebooted from the original setup config...

Unless... should I be aware of a way to change the file ext. to bin?

Alright, I've given up. The Tenda is dead. I went back to my old setup of the Billion Sky ADSL Modem provided by True (ISP) and my ORIGINAL Apple Airport (yes, I was one of the first buyers of the Apple Airport Express). It took 20 minutes to reset the network... add the printer and now no issues whatsoever... despite turning ALL devices off and on. I do not recommend Tenda at all. Interface was terrible... every change you made caused the router to auto update and reboot instead of making changes and selecting reboot. So every time I had to reset up the router I had to go into it at least 3 maybe 4 times to get everything set. Poor design. Customer service via email was there... barely. I would get a response and see it immediately and respond. It takes another day until they respond back. I tried Skype and no one picked up my call. I tried different times of the day (maybe their router wouldn't let me connect... who knows). It appears the router I bought wasn't even set up with the right firmware to begin with for my location. That is probably the most crazy thing about it. Anyway, I might return it or just use it as a reminder to stay away from their products and buying something that is $10 or $15 dollars cheaper than the true name brand. A week later and hours of problem solving on my part for only this...

Moral of the story... if you've never seen the name of the brand before... expect the absolute worst experience.
