Asus Z87 Gryphon Internet problems

I have built my first pc, windows 8 pro is installed. No problems so far, but when I plugged in my Ethernet cable it just didnt recognise it? I have tried it on my laptop so I know that is not a problem with the cable, any ideas what it could be?

Is there a device listed under Network in Device manager?

In network adapters? No, but in other it says Ethernet controller, but no drivers are installed, I tried install drivers but it says none have been found?

Have you tried the driver from http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/GRYPHON_Z87/#support_Download_36 ?
