Hard drive lag or your expecting too much out of your entry level cpu and entry level gpu at the resolution, detail, and number of online player's your trying to achieve. Turn some stuff down, see what happens. Monitor your CPU and GPU during gaming and see if either of their usages spike

I wouldnt say entry level CPU. I've got a 965BE, which is a little slower than the one OP currently has.

It would be lag if the entry level hardware was having a problem, not a freeze.

What settings are you playing at? The 7770 isnt much faster than my GTX460, which I usually play on medium for BF3.

I had that issue but only when I'm recording game, turning VSYNC on ingame and in CCC/nvidia panels worked fine for me. But if you really "maxed out" game then you have vsync already on ?
