Hi. I bought a PC with that motherboard and CPU, and even if in ASRock's website it says that those are compatible, the VRM overheats to up to 75ºC when gaming, and then it throttles down. Now my question is: should I complain to the shop where I got the whole PC from, and ask to replace the motherboard for a better one paying the difference, or should I buy one of these VRM heatsinks: http://www.ebay.es/itm/330987326773 ? (take into account price and shipping to Spain) If it was better to replace the motherboard, which one would you recommend? (say more than one, because it may not be available in the shop where I bought it from)

Thanks in advance.

PD: It's also strange that in a BurnInTest or Prime95 running for half an hour it doesn't overheat, but when I join a game of battlefield 3 multiplayer it overheats in less than 15 minutes. Then it throttles down for 10 seconds every 1~1.5 minutes. In the shop where I bought is they used Prime95 and BurnInTest to test out the components, so that may be the reason why they didn't notice.

The CPU temperature never goes over 57°C and the cooler I use is the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro rev.2

OK, I finally made it. Disabled AMD Application Power Management on the BIOS under OC tweak and now it rarely goes over 65º. I hope this can be useful for other people with the same problem.

I have Asrock 970 Extreme R2.0 and FX 8150 with same cooler i even if i dissable APM if i let Turbo Core Auto,Load Line Calibration Auto, and Thermal Throtle Auto it's going hotter around 70 but sistem seems stable no blue screen or frame in games, i guess MOBO 970 Extreme normal / R2.0 have some problems with CPUTIN temps or made to work on high temps , so don't bother that much
