I plan on doing a HUGE upgrade, (as you can see from my specs, I need it to run BF3/BF4 at 60fps) and I've had troubles picking a GPU. First off, I've got eyes on the 7950/7970 for their price/power ratio, and the 9000 series for their power (doesn't hurt that they will come with BF4 and Watch dogs either). as a BF player looking for a max graphics upgrade, I don't want to have to upgrade my PC for at least 3-4 years (playing latest games at at least 30fps), so is it a better idea to buy the cheap 7950/70 now, or pay a bit more out of pocket for, say, a 9950? I will also be getting new Mobo, Cpu, and Psu, so don't worry about any bottleneck in my specs. What do you think I should go with?

The HD 7970 OC w/ Boost http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009B6Y01Y/ref=as_li_q... is such an amazing deal right now it's worth getting instead of waiting.

This is one reason I was asking. this exact card is $279.99 on Newegg with rebate right now. The one thing I'm waiting to see is if buying a new card could save me more. BF4+Watch dogs were 2 games I was buying anyways, there goes $120 off a brand new pricetag. Plus, the 9000 series even promises to trump the 700 series. I'm trying to get right on the edge of tech, so i basically don't have to touch the PC for years to come. Any thoughts?

I think you should go for the 9950/70 if you can wait and can afford it. But mind you, at release those things are going to be quite a bit more pricey. I've got the 7950 and at 1080p BF3 is butter. I've got the overclock to keep it that way too. Not too sure about BF4 but i think that games going to be the 60fps breaking point for that card. You want it to last 4-5 years, 30 fps. you should come close with a 7950. I think the 9900 series is really what you want to be sure.

That's another thing I've been thinking of. Even if I don't buy a 9000 series, the prices of the 7950/7970 are dropping lower and lower. reason I ask this today is this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
And I coulld literally save the 3 radeon "gold rewards" tokens for Watch Dogs and BF4 when they release.
thoughts?
