hello, i could use some info from you guys on some over clocking issues im coming across. im new to all this so bear with me.

i just put together a system and these are the items im having issues with over clocking.

asus rog hero
4770k
gskill trident 2666 2x8

i think ive done what i needed to do in the asus bios. everything there shows my ram running at 2666 and my cpu at 4.2ghz. when i load the ROG cpuz in windows to verify my over clocking it still shows my cpu at 3.5ghz and my ram at 1333. anyone know off hand if i didnt enable something or is there issues with windows 8, cpuz, asus bios not playing nice with one another?

Solution
If ya done it right..... the OC only clicks in when ya put a load on the system.

Download OCCT and run the CPU test

http://www.ocbase.com/index.php/download

Also, look in the manual instructions regarding the four way optimization tool..... download the latest version and let it do all the settings automatically..... will get you to 95% of where ya can go.

Again.....make sure ya have the latest version from this week.

1333 if looking at the memory tab in CPU-Z (latest version is 1.66.1 is 2666 - CPU-Z shows true freq, since this is DOUBLE data rate DRAM it's true freq (1333) times 2 to get effective rate = 2666.

In the CPU TAB look at multiplier to see if OC is in place - if you have 4.2 loaded then it should show Xxx.x (8-42) where the xx.x is the freq at any given time (which will fluctuate)...
