Which processor is supported?

Hey, can you guys please help me with my computer upgrade? 2 years ago, i upgraded to the processors showing on the website of this model and yet its showing cpu not supported after the hp screen. So I put the old processor back. I tried two required proccessors showing on the hp website. I also have the p6243w. I hate this computer and i would like to upgrade it. So please help me? I still have the Sempron single core processor...

Which processor should i try?

STOP wasting money on an ancient system. No matter what CPU you drop in, the performance increase will be close to nothing.
The whole system is just too old.

Start saving up for a modern system.

Just go find a decent AMD Phenom X4 processor with a 95W TDP.

Phenom X4 955 maybe

remember this , higher "Ghz" means faster speed. Don't go for the 6 cores with slower speed/clocks.

HP mobos only have the lowest pssobile wattage support for the CPU installed, DIY upgrade on HPs CPUs are near impossible.
