I've been eyeing the 760 for a few weeks now and just haven't pulled the trigger. Now the 7970 looks like it's going for a nice price. Is the difference in the cards worth the extra $50?

I would compare the 760 to the 7950 and see which one you like most. Both are the same in price, and if you still prefer the 760, then the extra $50 most likely wouldn't be worth it to you. If you choose the 7950, then compare that to the 7970 and make your decision which one is more worth the price. So saying that, in my opinion, between the 760 and the 7970, I would prefer the 760 because, for a single monitor, you can max out pretty much every game (even Crysis 3 with at least 30fps). Even more so, I would recommend you to just compare the 760 to the 7950; I honestly would prefer the 7950 at the moment.
