Like all 7950s are at least 10 inches usually 10.2-10.6. Then randomly XFX DD 7950 is 9.3"

Did they deviate from AMD's standard specs?

Yes, they did, and the XFX cards are known to run uncomfortably hot, I do not suggest ANY HD7xxx card from XFX.

Where are you getting those numbers from? My XFX HD7950 DD is 10.5" and is on a reference PCB

Interesting, was unaware XFX made so many flavors of the 7950. In retrospect, I guess I got lucky getting one on a reference card since I didn't know of the differences

Hello... It might be to fill a marketing nich, it might be because they are Smarter than everyone else, it might be because of $$$, But like I always say "Buyer Beware"

That "cooling solution" will just re-cycle hot air into your Computer case and other Computer parts...

"Honey... I shrunk our video card!!!"

Some companies also make Custom boards to IMPROVE a product.

For instance the MSI 650 ti has a longer board and a larger more quiet heatsink.

Asus has a smaller GTX 670 for users with smaller cases. While the board is the same length, the cooler has been changed to take much less space.
