Buying a graphics card soon, just need some information about amd are there drivers up to snuff yet, and i remember awhile back hearing about frame stuttering. Just want to know if they got the stuff together or am i buying nvidia this time around.

Solution

the 670 is good, and a good quality psu should be able to run 2 in sli well. the 760 is not too far behind in performance, and should be cheaper.

The last AMD card I owned was the 6990. From what I know of, their drivers/cards just aren't what they used to be. I switched to a GTX 690, and I won't ever go back to AMD after that. There just isn't even a competition between them anymore. Nvidia is better right now imo. Hope this helps. Cheers mate!

same here, had crossfire 6850's earlier on in the year, lasted about a month after getting the second one and got sick of stuttering and went to nvidia. however they have recently released a new driver that has improved, but not 100% fixed the problem, and also at some performance cost http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/amd_framepacing_review_with_catalyst_13_8_fcat,13.html <read review. For dual cards still better to go nvidia for far less problems. AMD is fine for single card though.

I have 400 set aside for myself for pc upgrades, what would you recommend on the nvidia side i see the new 700 series out but the 670 was pretty good last time i checked and what i was planning on getting last time.

I have the specs to run any of the current gen cards, i5 3570k 750 watt psu etc, just need a good recommendation for 1080p. Do not play very many graphically intense games but watch a lot of hd video's if that makes a difference.
