GTX 760 vs Radeon HD 7950

I am building an $800 gaming pc including the OS, here it is http://pcpartpicker.com/user/mshannonjr7/saved/2etV. Is the 760 better than the 7950? IF so, is it so much better that getting the 7950 for the free games over the 760 worth it?

  1. The 7950 is really a goo card personally I think it is a very good card with or with out the free games. I would say go for it. You would do great with either of those cards but with the free games it makes a good bundle if the games are ones you like get it.

    Other things to consider....

    1. 13.8 beta drivers didn't fix frame latency issues
    2. 13.8 beta drivers didn't fix crossfire
    3. Monitor review sites of late keep taking about nVidia LightBoost technology

An interesting additional benefit of LightBoost has been explored recently by http://www.blurbusters.com, where it is used in 2D mode to help reduce perceived motion blur in gaming and fast moving content. We have looked at this in more detail in our recent Motion Blur Reduction Backlights article. Please see that article for the full detail about how this technology can be used to reduce motion blur on the VG278HE and its benefits. We found it offered a significant benefit in fast moving content, reducing motion blur quite considerably.
  3. Get the 7950. The performance of those 2 will be the same, only the benchmarks would say that they will trade blows. But in real world performance, you won't notice it. Get the 7950 because it's cheaper, ATI/AMD recently dropped I think around $40 on the price of the 7950.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/mshannonjr7/saved/2etV This is my build. I put the msi 760 in there because of all of the other forums I've read about the 760 vs 7950. The 760 does come with Batman Arhkam Origins, which comes out on October 25, so it should be great.
