So i'm in need of a desktop that allows me to game, stream, program and allows me to play around with virtual machines.

Now i have been looking around and i'm wondering about a few things

AMD vs Intel -> should i gear towards amd or should i go with intel?
If i go for intel should i go for an i5 or an i7? I think i7 would be better for my needs but i'm not entirely sure.
SSD or no SSD? This i'm really not to sure of. I can always get an SSD later.

Besides that this will be the first time i'm getting a custom pc so all help is more than welcome.

I'd like to have a "basic" setup to start with, with your recommendations as to what i could improve in... about 6 months

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: 10 september 2013

Budget Range: 1200€ / 1500$

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, streaming, programming, virtualization

Are you buying a monitor: Yes (separate funds)

Parts to Upgrade: everything

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: alternate.be, it's the only one i know that offers you to build your own pc on the website itself...

Location: Province: Antwerp, Belgium

Parts Preferences: no preferences, best price/performance ratio is important

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Your Monitor Resolution: Don't have a monitor at the moment but it needs to be a relatively small one, like a 22 inch one.

Additional Comments: I'll be playing league of legends, diablo 3, crysis 1-3, dead space 1-3, Fifa, Skyrim and many others, so i'll need it to be able to do high end games for the coming ~3 years. I'd like for it to not be too loud.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: My laptop can't handle my needs.

Solution
Streaming needs CPU, so an i7 4770(K) or FX-8320 is a good plan.

The budget is a good start but fill out this list of things.
Basically telling us stuff like "location", "needed components" and "os requirements". Also a good idea to let us know what kind of performance in games are you looking for so we can adjust it accordingly.

Generally though at your budget level an SSD is quite possible ( 120GB at least ) and and makes for a nice responsive system.
