Hello,

I was just wondering what kind of power supply would I need to be able to power up my Sapphire Radeon X1950 GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I Video Graphic Card? I think my power supply is around the 320w (not sure), might check it when I get back home.

But I am not asking for a HUGE performance, basically, I just want to use it for games like Sims 2 and a couple of emulators that require a good graphics card and if there was a way to underclock if I need to.

Any help would really be appreciated and thanks in advance.

The card requires about 115 watts from the psu to run right.

The other thing to check is what the PSU can put out in amps on the 12v rails.
The card in full operation when gaming requires 26 to 30 amps from a 12v rail of a Psu also

Check to see if the current Psu can provide enough amps to the 12v rails for the card to be able to run right. You will find all the information on a sticker of the current psu you are using.

You may consider a 450w Psu or 500w to be on the safe side.

Hello,

Thank you for replying and I apologize for getting ahead of myself. My PC is an eMachines T5048 and I am using one optical drive and 2 hard drives, which leave me with one female molex left, but I need two molex spitters which I'll buy afterwards. Will it still be enough, though? I just don't know much about its wattage/voltages.

Thank you so much again for your help. That was my only dilemma. I'd much rather get a better power supply just for my computer's sake. I got my eyes on a 600w power supply for my system.
