So my dog decided to grab a cord on my computer and go running with it and managed to make my comouter fall on its side. Now there's no display and I'm not sure what to do.

Solution
Re-check all your external connections first.

If you have a discrete video card, falling might have knocked it out of its slot so you may need to re-seat it. While you are at it, might as well verify that all internal connectors are also fully seated.

If you are using the IGP and your PC won't even post, re-check all cable connections both outside and inside - something must have gotten loose.

If still no joy, maybe the CPU/socket got damaged if you have a fancy/tall HSF.

Desktop or laptop?
Either way, something is now disconnected.

It is possible that a card or connector inside was loosened or pulled out completely. You'll need to open your case and check. Make sure your video card is securely in its slot. Make sure the heat sink has not come loose. Since you did not specify, I am assuming you are using the stock CPU cooler; the Intel one uses pushpins that can easily pop out if the machine is jarred.

That darn pesky dog !
As said, if you open the side of the tower case, and you have what we call a Pci-e graphics card in the slot, or Agp slot if it old it`s been Jared out a bit.

Take the power away from the system.
A quick push on the card to seat it back in it`s slot should cure the problem if the case.
Then give the dog a kick for being so stupid.

I went in unplugged and replugged everything and still no display. The fans and the lights all turn on and there's a post beep, just no display. I also tried two monitors to see if that was it and nothing. Any other thoughts?

Desktop? Was it running at the time?
Interval or dedicated graphics card? Physically remove and reinstall the card.

It was running at the time, it didn't shut off when it fell the display just shut off.
I reseated the graphics card and there's no change. My motherboard also doesn't have onboard graphics so I can't try that.

If the card was pulled out of its slot while the machine was on, it may have shorted and gotten fried. If you have or can get another video card you can test for that.

You may also wish to upgrade DOG (any version) to SHELTER_CAT (any version) to avoid further damage :).
