Hi all,i have just brought a second hand ps3 after high jacking my sons for the past 12 months. I have formatted the hard drive and then I got a usb memory stick, saved all the game data that I wanted to. Installed the games I wanted on the second ps3 then come to load my games saves and it came up with, I was not the owner of the saved game data so cannot transfer. Can anyone tell me why this is. Does the second ps3 have to be set up exactly like the first one.. Watch vids on youtube and it seems as easy as pie, apparently not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is if you were signed in on your son's PS Network account on his playstation while you were playing, you will need to be signed in on his account on the new Playstation as well to continue those same saves. That's what it's referring to with "not the owner of the saved game data."

If you wish to have separate accounts so that you can play together, I am afraid it is most likely that you will have to start over on most of those games :\
