I'm a right handed guy looking for a new mouse, but I've always used a right handed mouse with my left hand when it comes to computers (strange i know... even with the click config. of a righty)!

Now the problem is I've never actually used high spec mice (i.e. for gaming and other demanding purposes) and i thought it's about time i upgrade to something decent. However, here's a couple of things you should know:

I'm a student so my budget is between £30-40 (could stretch a little more if the product is really worth it).

I am quite the gamer (when i have the time!), but i like simplicity and quality components. None of this ridiculous 10 button layout and uber high DPI non-sense that I've been reading about / researching! A great sensor, 2-3 buttons, good polling rate, 2000-3000 max DPI setting and an ambidextrous palm grip shape would be perfect.

Here's an idea of what I've been using over the years (cheap, yes, but it's what I've been accustomed to): -

The Dell, for me, was fantastic up until the sensor just stopped working. Lasted me about 5 years i think. Nevertheless I'm sure there's better out there.

The RX1000 is reasonable and is what i'm using now, fairly comfortable, but not really that accurate for gaming i find. Seems to be pretty 'jittery' and 'jumpy' from time to time. Overall acceptable for general use.

M505 i use for my lappy. It's small compared to the other two, but it seems my hand can handle various sizes ;) Anyway it's definitely not for gaming and precision engineering software as such. Sort of accurate if you set it correctly, but the mouse lagg is very apparent when I've played various intense FPS games that need you to react quickly. Damn wireless as per. Not cool...

One more thing I'd like to point out is that I've been looking at the Zowie Mico and the Razer Abyssus so if anyone has any similar suggestions that would be great. Really stuck on what to get and i'm getting tired of reading!

Thanks for taking the time to look at this post and I look forward to seeing some useful information on products suitable for someone as awkward as me.

Cheers guys!
