I just got a laptop with a solid state hybrid drive (Lenovo y410p, 1 tb hdd + 24 gb ssd option; i believe the part was listed as: st1000lm024-hn-m101mbb in the device manager), and I was wondering how defragmentation works on a hybrid drive. I know it's a bad idea for a pure ssd, but how would this work with one that is part hdd? Is it something that should still be done at some point eventually or will it not play nice with an sshd?

defrag wont touch the ssd part of the hybrid, it (ssd) only monitors what is read so it can/might cache it for the next time.
