Going to be doing my second build this summer, for a friend of mine. Just wondering if I should bread-board? Also, how do I turn off the computer if i short circuited the power button.

Solution
I would, at least to make sure everything works first.

As for being able to turn the computer off, you can just flip the power switch or pull the power cord from the back of the power supply. I wouldn't make it a habit, but it should be fine for the first couple of times.

I cheat with mine. I have an extra power switch from an old computer case I plug in to the front panel connector. Makes it a whole lot harder to accidentally short stuff out.

I always breadboard as it makes it easier to identify issues before installing everything in the case. You'll at least know if the motherboard, CPU and RAM are working properly.

You power up by temporarily shorting the power pins on the Front Panel connector (a jumper works really well). You power down using the same procedure (keep the jumper on for at least 4 seconds if you need to force the shutdown).
