can i have a separate internet provider to the rest of my family

I moved into a new house on Sunday that has comcast which for online gaming and in general is really bad at times and all over the place, they won't switch internet providers so is there a way i can get a different provider for just one pc?

Well..Comcast is not universally bad for actual connection speed. A second 'connection' won't necessarily fix your local problem. Same wiring outside, same house wiring.

There seems to be some problem, either inside or outside. Diagnose and get it fixed.

If your using an older modem have Comcast switch it out. If this is an older home check that the cable wire to the house is good and check that connection to the house is tight. Check to see if your house has to many splitters and there age.
You want the cable modem on the first splitter. Comcast should have installed a four or more port splitter in the basement. If it not a hardware issue and it bad hardware or overloaded server near you try using open dns server or google server. Also check that your router not open and people are leaching.
If Comcast can't or won't help jump over to fios for the home.

All the hardware should be new since it was setup a week or two ago, its not getting leeched, not sure what a dns server still would like to know if i can get seperate internet for just one pc if you know anything about that.

You family, as in parents?

Whether Comcast will allow a second account depends on their rules, your age, and the homeowners permission.
Are you under 18?

What level of service are you supposed to be getting? Are you actually getting that? If not, get Comcast on the case. If yes, then offer to pay (the parents?) for the increased cost of a faster connection.

How bad is 'bad'? What does it seem to be not doing for you?

I am 16 with no job(yet), bad is i cant even watch netflix the last half and hour since it wont even come up and games reach around 12000 ping at times, also sometimes just drops completely for around 5 minutes

well...at age 16 with no job, it is highly unlikely that Comcast (or anyone else) will set you up your own connection and account. How would you plan to make the first payment?

Sounds like there are connection issues. Comcast either needs to fix it (outside the home), or you need to determine where inside the home the problem is.
Are you wired or WiFi?

Well my parents will pay for it, they dont want to switch because its a bundle deal with internet+cable, im wired.
