Possible bottleneck in my system

I have a GTS 250 1gb OC edition and a Athlon x2 340k, I was playing Battlefield 3 and noticed that I would only get lag in open areas

P.S : My CPU usage was at 100% while playing

Both your CPU and your GPU might be a little bit too low for that game. Your CPU is your bottleneck there, but you might still experience some lag even if you upgrade it, just because your GPU is not quite good enough either.

Yeah, I hate to say it but the CPU and GPU are really weak and will be hard to play BF3. Multiplayer is gonna be too much for this system. If possible upgrade both components.

I don't think pushing the CPU from 3.8 to 4.0Ghz will give you much improvement. I doubt you'd notice at all.

Is buying new components at all possible? BF3 is really tough on a system and you need a decent GPU to play it.
