I have important MS Excel file data and unfortunately got damage due to virus attacks, so my crucial Excel sheet got lost, How to repair corrupt MS Excel (XLS and XLSX) Files. If have any solution please assist me.

Once you're sure you are completely clear of the threats, download Recuva form http://www.piriform.com and install it. It's a free utility and works well but if the sheet was open when the attack hit, you may not be able to reconstitute it. If you search your system for files with names starting with a $ symbol, you might find the temporary file Excel creates as soon as you open the original. That could be recovered as the files before you started working on it the last time.

Saga Lout :

Recuva doesn't do anything about any particular format corrupted file data recovery.
Recuva only undeletes the files that were accidently deleted.
The question was about "lost" files, so probably you got it this way, but I understand that he has a file in disk that is corrupted whose data he wants to recover. Recuva is not the tool for that.

I downloaded here version 2.5 and ran it.

It quickly said it has opened the file and recovered the data. When I wanted to save it, it asks me to buy.

it doesn't even show the recovered data or even a part of it, entire worksheet that was appearing was totally blank.

So, I guess they are cheats who are just sucking money from gullible users and their software is a heap of junk that wouldn't be able to save or recover anything. Such people should be put in jail.

Maybe I should have explained more fully. Recuva could have brought to life the last known temporary copy of the damaged file. ShiveGeorge's post was removed as being Commercial Spam - I did that after reading the link and finding that only a demo version was free and the proper utililty cost $49 but somehow that deletion was reversed. There are thousand of such links posted here every week and we try to clear them up - it's unfortunate this one remained long enough to catch you out.

It's now been removed completely.
