(considering all memory are same brand and make)

I currently have 3 slots (of 6 slots) filled with 4GB modules = 12GB in triple channel.

Would I gain any benefit if I had all 6 slots filled with 2GB modules = 12GB in triple channel interleaving?

Cause I am wondering if I should buy 3 more 4GB to max my system at 24GB...

Solution
No, it's better having only half of slots occupied (less load on the CPU).
But, if needing more RAMs for demanding applications, then of course you can install them.

There would be no performance benefit to going from 3x4GB modules to 6x2GB modules. As for upgrading from 12 to 24 GB, you'll only see any performance impact if you are currently using apps that need more than 12GB of RAM, but you won't gain any memory bandwidth by adding 3 more modules.
