Basic components:

Asus m5a97 r2.0
amd fx 6300
sapphire hd 7870
600w psu by corsair
2x4gb vengeance ram

I have been trying to get this to work for several hours now, everything is connected, I think I have updated the bios of the motherboard using the usb bios flashback, as the 6300 was originally unsupported

I get no signal, everything is connected outside of my case, all fans are spinning, and the green led is on on my motherboard, any suggestions?
help much appreciated thanks.

I have tried using one stick of ram at a time too.

Solution
Unless testing them in a shop you can't know which one is faulty.
Or RMA the board and when coming, if not working, RMA the CPU.
When arriving the new board, don't flash the BIOS. Just test it outside the case with only CPU and CPU fan. See if getting the beeps.

I'm thinking of just returning the motherboard and getting a different one so that i dont need to update the bios prior to booting :L
I can't find a place to put a two pin speaker on this board either, it also didnt come with a speaker

download the latest bios from the asus website, unzipfolder
rename to M5A97R20.com
put on formatted usb stick
connect to the usb slot that supported by the flashback
turn on the power at the psu, press the flashback button for 3 seconds, until it starts flashing, and it is successfully updated if it stops flashing, which it did, if it kept flashing, something was wrong

Starting?
The motherboard or flashback led?
The power led stays lit when starting on the motherboard,
Flashback starts flashing and then stops in a few minutes,

None came with the case, Nor in my 5 year old prebuilt case, I'll look through a laptop or two for one though.

No beeps what so ever with nothing installed what so ever, no beeps for cpu and fan either, its pointing towards faulty mobo, Correct?
I can easily get an exchange from amazon if that appears to be the case.

Yeah i tried two psus, one was new, one worked.
Would i need to rma the cpu? as none of the pins or anything are bent/broken

will do, it's also very very unlikely to be the cpu, they're faulty much less than motherboards i believe
