Hello,

components:

2x4gb vengeance ram
fx 6300 cpu
sapphire hd 7870
600w psu by corsair

I previously had a asus m5a97 r2.0 which was incompatible out of the box, and i was unable to upgrade it to work with my cpu,

can someone recommend me a similarly priced motherboard that IS compatible from the box, need one asap!

Solution
Any recent motherboard with an AM3+ Socket will work. Here's some I found for you:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Platform_Products/ - Asus motherboards. Select AM3+ on the sidebar
http://www.asrock.com/mb/index.asp?s=AM3%2b - ASRock motherboards
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/list.aspx?s=42&jid=13&p=2&v=26 - Gigabyte motherboards
http://products.amd.com/en-us/motherboardresult.aspx?f1=&f2=&f3=&f4=&f5=ATX&f6=Yes&f7=&f10=AM3%2b - AMD Motherboards

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Check the CPU compatibility before deciding which one to get.

Yes but still there is a slight change of BIOS revision issues.

What do you mean by that? Because you can't update the bios without booting your pc, and you cant do that if the cpu wont work straight out...

Well...

Some boards have a dual BIOS setup. Which makes updating the BIOS less risky.
Most boards now are providing BIOS's with update features.
Like my MSI FM2-A75ma-E35 can be updated from the BIOS screen itself or from within the OS. It also has a web browser in the BIOS as well.

Basically the same thing that happened with your other board. Some people have resolved that at their local helpful computer store or borrowed a supported CPU from a friend.
