Hi, this excellent community helped with my last build which has run fine for 4.5 years. I'm overdue for an upgrade and would appreciate a look at my selected components for compatibility and value. I spent quite awhile reading these forums and (mostly) chose some of the more frequently suggested components:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W ($219.99 @ newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme6 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX ($129.99 @ newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) ($84.99 @ newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 Series MZ-TD250BW 250GB SATA III SSD ($174.99 @ newegg)
Case: BitFenix Merc Alpha USB 3.0 BFC-MRC-100-KKX1-U3 ($49.99 @ newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit) ($89.98 @ outlet PC)
CPU Cooler: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO ($39.99 @ newegg)

My budget is ~$800 and for now I'm using these components from my last rig:
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 460 GTX
Power Supply: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC
Optical Drive: DVD Multi RW

Thanks!

Solution
What are you using it for? If gaming mainly, faster than 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 ram doesnt get you anything so could save a little there.

I'd get the samsung 840 Evo SSD with the difference.

Thank you both for the reply. I meant to ask why all of the budget gaming PC builds here used 1600mhz memory, I am indeed mainly using it for gaming. Thanks for the suggestion, I will get the 1600mhz G.Skill Ripjaws and upgrade to the 840 Evo.

Official ram support for your CPU is 1600MHz.
