I recently installed a Thermalright AXP-100 cooler, and the i5-3570k CPU core temps seem to be a bit high at stock speeds. These temps were obtained via RealTempGT software. I am curious to find out if these temps are normal, or if I need to further troubleshoot.

Ambient temp = 19

Core temps (3.4 GHz, 100.5 MHz bus speed):

  • ■ 34-42-42-34 idle
    ■ 57-66-64-59 loaded (Prime95 In-Place Large FFT)

Core temps (3.8 GHz, 100.5 MHz bus speed):

  • ■ 36-44-43-35 idle
    ■ 67-77-75-70 loaded

Computer Configuration:

  • ■ CPU - Intel i5-3570k
    ■ Cooler - Thermalright AXP-100 (fan pulls air from CPU cooler into PSU fan inlet)
    ■ GPU - EVGA GTX 670 FTW Signature 2
    ■ Motherboard - ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe
    ■ Case - Silverstone SUGO SG05 w/ 3.5" HDD installed in stock cage, stock case supply fan in front
    ■ PSU - Silverstone ST45SF (directly above cooler)
    ■ Memory - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) SDRAM DDR3 1600

Solution
Your temps seem to be right in line with [H]ard|OCP's review of the Thermalright AXP-100.

At 25°C ambient temperature with an i7-3770k @ 3.50 GHz, Vcore 1.05v:
