I have a 1TB WD my passport external usb 3.0 hdd
it suddenly failed to get recognized by system and would bring the system to a freeze unless i plug it out and system will work fine
later i tried updating its firmware and WD firmware updater told that drive failed to be updated
it used to show as a raw drive and spin normally without any clicking sound and led will blink properly
now after firmware failure its not even recognized as a usb device attached or removed
the led becomes continuously on with no spinning - what could be wrong and any suggestions on how to revive it ?
