Just installed motherboard and PSU, not working?

Ive just installed my motherboard into my case, connected a case fan, installed my psu, connected some case lights to the psu, plugged all the case lights and switches to the motherboard, plugged it into the wall, turned psu on, pressed the on button and nothing happened?

(havent got money to get any other components for a few weeks)

Havent got paper clip but can I use a hair grip to test psu?

please help me!!

Do you mean is the power switch connector plugged in properly? if so, yes I think so, I plugged it in where the manual said to...

Can i just a hair grip instead of a paperclip to test the psu?

Yeah I mean the cable running from the on/off switch, to your motherboard. I believe they're usually labelled -/+ . But yeah a hair grip will do the same thing as a paper clip.

Just test in PSU, works fine... so does this mean my motherboard is dead?

PSU: Corsair CX500m (tested and works fine)
MB: ASRock Z77 Pro4-m
Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 350D

I wore an anti-static wrist band whilst installation and handling any of the said components...
