Hey everyone!

My friend is getting my old motherboard, which is a asus p8p67le.
He has a powersupply that works perfectly fine with just one flaw.

His old motherboard had an 4pin atx for power, and a small capacitator nearby which meant he had to cut one of the 12v connectors of.

My question is; Will he be able to use my old motherboard with just 7 pins in the 8pin atx connector, missing one 12v?

hes going to be running a core i52500k and a gtx560ti if thats any help!

Hi,
Usually, the 8 pin connector is actually a 4+4 pin one. He can split the connector and use only a 4 pin one (the one with all pins, of course).
If not overclocking, it should be OK.
What's his power supply model?

He's using a North Q 700watt, i don't have the model number, but its about 3 years old.

I just found out that i have a 4+4pin from my old power supply, so i should be able to just pull the pins out and connect them into my old 4+4 connector.

It's a 8 pin (not 4+4), according to the specs.
