Quad Channel Mamory in Dual Channel MoBo?

Solution
Yes - technically there is no TRUE sets of DRAM that are designed to run in Quad channel - it more that the sticks are set up to simply work together as four sticks - all DRAM is primarily the same - each stick is a single 64bit device and the MC (memory controller) controls how they they run depending on the slots they are placed in - in a strictly dual channel mobo whether 2 or 4 sticks the max the MC can run is Dual, in an X79 mobo the the DRAM can run in dual or quad - the difference being dual channel makes the sticks run as an 128 bit device (vs 64) and true quad channel is as a 256 bit device vs 64)

So in short yes the sticks will be fine and in dual channel on your mobo ;)
